I graduated from the University of Glasgow in 2014 with an MSci in Statistics with Work Placement. I then obtained my PhD in Statistics from the University of Glasgow in 2018, working under the supervision of Dr Ludger Evers, Dr Tereza Neocleous and Professor Jane Stuart-Smith. My PhD focused on Bayesian inference in hierarchical models with an application to modelling linguistic change in the Glaswegian accent.
After completing my PhD, I worked in industry, working within the renewable energy sector as a data scientist, looking at the development of automated fault detection systems on wind turbines. Following this, I returned to the University of Glasgow in September 2019, first working as a temporary lecturer in Statistics and currently as a research associate, which involves working with environmental sensors producing high frequency data, looking at how best to operate, spatially distribute and monitor these sensors (more information on this can be found here).
