About my research

I'm a statistician and geneticist working in the Robertson Centre for Biostatistics. I'm involved in several collaborative projects exploring the relationship between DNA and health, including investigations of: the role of HLA alleles in Hodgkin lymphoma; intergenerational trends in obesity; associations between schizophrenia and candidate genes; gene expression patterns associated with the human-infective stage of trypanosomes; and links between lifestyle and telomere length. Other aspects of my research involve improving study design and statistical methodology, for example, developing a method for quantifying error rates in genetic data, and using simulations to explore ways of improving the design of stroke clinical trials.
